Silver Tip White tea is harvested in spring 2019 from the pristine high elevation mountains in Jinggu, Yunnan. It is the most exquisite and highest grade of white tea, made up entirely of newly sprouted leaf buds.

The leaf bud is covered in dense silvery white downy hairs, called trichomes, which serve to protect the young shoot from insects and to conserve heat and moisture essential in its early stage growth. In fact, trichomes are present in abundance on all tea leaf buds. However, they are usually shedded during tea processing, especially when tea leaves are vigorously rolled and turned over repeatedly, causing trichomes to break and fall off.

In contrast, white tea processing involves only withering and drying, which are so gentle that trichomes are mostly preserved on the leaf buds. You will notice some trichome shedding, appearing as tiny hairs, inside the packaging bag or floating on the brewed tea. The tiny hairs are edible and rich in essential oils, imparting a smoother texture to the tea and contributing to the unique aroma of white tea known as “trichome fragrance”.

Silver Tip White tea is available in loose leaf form. The same premium loose leaf tea is being used which is packed in pyramid tea bags.

The pyramid tea bag is specially created to combine convenience with the full flavour of loose leaf tea, making it simple to enjoy premium white tea on-the-go or at the workplace.

Compared to conventional tea bag, pyramid tea bag provides more room for the tea leaves to expand freely. Nevertheless, whole leaves have to be purposely broken into smaller pieces to fit into each pyramid tea bag. For this reason, some tea leaves may appear broken, but this does not affect the quality of the tea.

Carefully chosen for its finest quality, the biodegradable filter mesh material of the pyramid tea bag is made in Japan and certified under the “Green PLA” mark. The mesh material is derived from natural corn starch and 100% safe and non-toxic. The pyramid tea bags are sealed by ultrasound (instead of glue) and packed by HACCP system accredited facility in Singapore.

Each Silver Tip White pyramid tea bag is individually wrapped in a luxury foil pouch to protect the tea leaves from light, air, moisture and surrounding aromas, thereby locking in the tea's true flavor and best taste. Ideal for the office pantry or serving visitors to your home, the luxury foil pouch is also the best choice for restaurants and cafés as the airtight packaging prevents the tea leaves from picking up surrounding smell from the kitchen and other food. Now you can keep a luxury foil pouch in your handbag and take your Silver Tip White tea wherever you go.

This delicate tea was once presented as a tribute tea to the king as the elegant silvery leaf bud resembles a dragon's white whiskers. Today, it is produced in limited quantity every year, making it one of the most sought-after tea. Enjoy this extraordinary tea in a pyramid tea bag!

Silver Tip White is best enjoyed hot but also highly enjoyable as a cold brew. Simply put some tea bags into a water bottle and fill it with room temperature water. Keep the bottle in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours and you will be surprised by the refreshing taste of your Silver Tip White cold brew (See White Tea Research Studies  to find out more about the benefits of cold brew white tea).
